2017
Hello One & All,
I was very embarrassed to see that my last note here was from Fall of 2015!!! Yikes... I need a webmaster.
Anyway - just an update: I have been off from touring for a lot of the last few months and concentrating on production stuff in the studio and my teaching duties on The Chuck Loeb School of Jazz Guitar on artistworks.com
Working on a beautiful new CD by Carmen Cuesta and a few tracks for Michael Franks and some other artists tba.
But things will get rolling next month... as many of you know, my latest CD "Unspoken" is nominated for a Grammy in the Best Contemporary Instrumental Album category, so a trip to Los Angeles and the Grammy's is in the offing in February. Please send positive vibes for me taking home a little statue of a grammaphone on Feb 12!!! It's my 3rd nomination and they say the third time is the charm!
Then in late March things get rolling again with live shows. I just posted a bunch of dates...

Hello all, It's hard to believe it's almost October, and there is already a slight chill in the air in New York. Amazing… The summer was pretty fantastic, with a bunch of production work and live gigs. I just returned from Asia where I played 10 amazing shows in Japan and Korea with Fourplay. We debuted music from our new CD "Silver", and the reaction from the fans was fantastic.More infoOn The Road Again! Spring 2015
Hey Gang!
As the title says, I am hitting the road again this month and actually I am writing and posting this note from the Delta Airlines Lounge at LaGuardia Airport in NY heading up to Detroit to play with Fourplay tonight!
After this my travels will take me to California, Ohio, Pennsylvania, NJ, NY, Rhode Island, & Florida! I will be with Fourplay, Jazz Funk Soul, and also I am excited to be presenting the CD "BOP" which I have mentioned before. It is a great lineup of contemporary Jazz Artists playing their favorites from the hallowed Bop era - tunes by Dizzy Gillespie, Charlie Parker, Thelonius Monk and more. The players include Jeff Lorber, Everette Harp, Harvey Mason, Brian Bromberg, Rick Braun, Till Broenner, Eric Marienthal, Randy Brecker, Brian Dunne, and fellow AW Prof John Patitucci! We will debut it at 2 shows of Big Band concerts at The Berks Jazz Festival April 14th & 15th which is where the project was born.

Hello everyone, and Happy Spring!
The sun has finally warmed up, the flowers and buds are starting to come out, and the birds are singing a little bit louder. So that must mean we will all be getting allergies soon...I hope not! But I do have to say that it sure is great to be able to venture out of the house without a huge overcoat, gloves, a hat and snow boots! At least here in NY. But enough about the weather. I've got some big news to share, and a bunch of great stuff coming up out on the road, and in the studio, so let's get to it. School Is In Session
Just last week ArtistWorks, the premier online music website, officially opened The School of Jazz Guitar with Chuck Loeb It is a very exciting moment for me. I love teaching, and for years I have wanted to find a way to do it on a regular basis, but with my touring and recording schedule, it has been tough to schedule, except for a clinic or master class from time to... |
Autumn 2013 Newsletter
Hello and Happy Autumn!
There's been quite a bit going on, and there are some nice things coming up, so I wanted to take this opportunity to send out my last newsletter of the year to keep you up to date.
Carmen Cuesta CD!!
The time has finally come!
December 1st, Tweety Records will release "Toda Una Vida", a brand new recording of classic, romantic Boleros, beautifully sung in Spanish in Carmen's captivating, intimate style, with plush jazz arrangements, and a fresh and exciting new cast of supporting players.
The CD features a back up band of the finest young musicians in Madrid: Moisés P. Sanchez on piano, Antonio "Toño" Miguel on bass, Jose San Martín on drums, Yuvisney Aguilar on percussion, and one American ringer... me;-) plus some special guests.
These are traditional Spanish and Latin American songs that Carmen grew up listening to her whole life, which is roughly a translation of the title: toda una vida, and Carmen draws the...
“SILHOUETTE” Loeb’s latest recording features an all-star
“Silhouette” - Loeb’s latest recording features an all-star lineup with legendary musicians Nathan East, Peter Erskine, Steve Gadd, Will Lee, Eric Marienthal, Mitchel Forman, Wolfgang Haffner, Andy Snitzer, Pat Bianchi, David Mann, and David Charles, as well as introducing some fresh new talent with Oli Rockberger and Giulio Carmassi.
It features eight new exciting original compositions, ranging from the smokey Wes Montgomery inspired title song, to the lithe and airy “Appreciation”, to the driving “Silver Lining” & “Lockdown”.
“JT” is a tribute to James Taylor, one of Chuck’s all time favorite artists.
“Stompin’” is a visit with Chuck’s “Plain ‘n’ Simple” organ band, and swings like crazy through and through.
As always Chuck’s family is featured, with a beautiful rendition of the classic Cuban Bolero "Esta Tarde Vi Llover " sung by Spanish singer Carmen Cuesta, a duet of the classic "My One And Only Love" with...
