Happy Holidays, Everyone!
& Best Wishes for 2008
Hi, everyone,
I hope you all have been having nice holidays. Looking back
at 2007, it was a great year, an exciting year for me, with
Presence as my Heads Up
debut CD, "Good to Go" achieving great things on
the R&R charts and lots of exciting collaborations. It
was great to wrap up the year as part of Gerald Veasley's
Holiday show at the Kimmel Center. And as 2007 draws to a
close, I am really looking forward to 2008.
In the last newsletter, I mentioned that the latest
Metro CD, Metro Express

I am happy to say that Metro Express

In news from the road, I would just like to thank all of
you who came out to my shows during 2007 and extend a special
appreciation to those who came out to the recent shows that
Eric Marienthal and I did in Miami, Boston and California.
Thanks also to those who came out to share Gerald Veasley's
Holiday show at the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia. It was
a great pleasure that Gerald asked me to participate, and
he is hoping to take that show around the country next year's
holiday season.
While I was in Boston, I had the thrill of a lifetime to
play with one of my heroes and idols, George Benson! I was
thrilled that he asked me to come in and jam with him during
sound check. If you like, you can see some photos of the two
us together on www.myspace.com/chuckloebofficial.
Also, this fall my daughter Lizzy made her debut at the Bitter
End (NYC) with Josh Dion and Brian Killeen completing her
trio in front of a packed room. If you'd like to see photos
from that, check out her myspace page at www.myspace.com/lizzyloebmusic.
Finally, I would like to let you know that I have a new single
on the radio. Window of the Soul
was added to the Smooth Jazz Radio Chart at # 25. If you like
the song, please call into your local station and let them
know. I am also pleased to say that Good
to Go ended the year with 37 weeks on the R&R Chart.
It peaked at # 6, and ranked as #8 on the list of Top Smooth
Jazz Songs! And it got me listed as #10 on the Top Smooth
Jazz Artists list – wait, how did I end up lower than....
Just kidding!
In news from the studio, I have some exciting projects coming
up in the New Year. One of the next things we'll be working
on is Carmen's next CD. That will tie in with a special Bossa
Nova show we're developing for the Spring.
Ahead on the touring horizon, I am also excited to share
the news that I will be going to Russia at the end of January
as part of a very special all-star group that will include
Eric Marienthal, Jeff Lorber, Jimmy Haslip, and Will Kennedy.
Eric is organizing this tour and I don't have any specifics
yet as to the dates and places but will keep you posted.
Finally, I would also like to thank several people that are
of invaluable help to me behind the scenes all year:
Bruce and Judi Nichols at Central Entertainment
Lois Roe and Bryan Dechter, who administer my website and
my newsletter
Dave Love, Doug Ashland, Neal Sapper, Mike Wilpizeski, Kelly
Johanns-DiCillo, Kevin Gschwend and the entire staff at Heads
Up International
Jordi Suñol at International Jazz Productions
Juan Miguel, Luis and Maria Eugenia at Indigo Records
And of course: my family
Best wishes for a happy and healthy 2008. I look forward
to talking to you all in the New Year.
